grooming early stage founders

wits sew

University of Witswatersrand, Wits Business School (WBS) Johannesburg commissioned us to build a digital presence for one of their programs. The Plug created a website, visual identity, social media banners, and an online presence.

The Problem

The SEW Week focuses on helping groom and shape young aspiring founders. Many of them are either unfamiliar or inexperienced on how to be a good founder. Wits Business School, alongside other Universities across South Africa combined forces to tackle this issue.

Key issues that the project team faced were
(1.) No database or data on aspiring students exists
(2.) Getting the word out to as many users
(3.) Ensuring students register for the events

solution

An integrated web design and digital campaign for the project was created.
Users were reached organically, without any paid promotions.

The focus of the project was to gather data on the students, and their current understanding of entrepreneurship.

Our team created a website that featured an event registration process, detailing keynote speakers and event information. Users would signup for events, they would be interested in. User behaviour would be saved and used to make decisions for future programmes.

To our surprise, the project exceeded expectations and received thousands of hits when we launched. And 20,000+ unique users registered.

We alongside the WBS team promoted the project online and via social media, events were well attended and detailed information on students collected.
